Visiting Dubai?

Dubai is home to many first. Yes, they like it BIG (sense some kiasu-ness) here! They have the world tallest tower and the largest man-made island and not forgetting they even have 7 star hotel - the Burj Al Arab when the max is only 5 star. Gotta love the spirit!

My friends keep asking me where to go and what to do when they are here in Dubai. So I figured I would just write a blog about it once and for all.

Where to go? What to do?

1. Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world and centrepiece of Downtown Dubai.

At over 828 metres (2,716.5 feet) and more than 160 stories, Burj Khalifa holds the following records:

2. Go to Dubai Mall

It is the world's largest shopping centre. You have to see the dancing fountain. Grab a cup of coffee and sit by the fountain. I think the show starts at 6pm onwards.

Other attraction includes - Burj khalifa, Dubai Aquarium and Underwater Zoo.

3. Desert Safari

What do you do when you lose someone you love without even expecting it? Life is so short and fragile. One day they are with you and within split seconds, everything changes. Your world turn upside down... it just come crushing down.. every part of your body just goes numb. You feel so weak and exhausted physically, emotionally drained...all you can hope for is that you will have the chance to see the person you love again and never ever let go.

Mun mun, stop making everyone sad and worried. In case you don't know, Wei Yong is trying so hard to stay strong for you and he is waiting for you to just open your eyes and look at him again. I know you don't know me that well and we only met once, but I have been friends with wei yong for a long time. When he says he loves you, he means it with all his heart. Stop punishing him and stop sleeping. Just wake up...whatever dream that you are having, just snap out of it. Its time to open your eyes. please don't do this to him. Just fight for your life, fight for your family and friends and most importantly fight for your love.

Just open your eyes.. I know its hard but you just have to.

I think it depends....

For me, it depends on how your approach to life is. Are you a risk taker? Or not? Choosing with your heart can hurt a lot because if it doesn't work your way, it will hurt like hell and you risk everything that you have ever worked for and have, but if it really works, you will be the happiest person alive because you are doing what you wanted the most.

On the other hand, to follow your brain, it just makes perfect sense in terms of weighing the pro and cons. If you follow this you will feel it's the "right thing to do" but deep inside you will feel like something's missing. The "what if" question....

I am not a risk taker especially when it comes to the matter of the heart. I can't take it.. I know I can't handle the pain if it doesn't go my way or what I expected. But at times I always wondered how my life would turn out if I followed my heart instead?

Sometimes your heart may choose what you really want deep inside and be happy but it can always lead you into trouble but your brain will protects and choose what's best for u but not necessarily makes u happy.

Which one whould you choose? Your heart or your head?

If you are unsure, please do not "google" the answers and make a self diagnostic conclusion! Check with your doctor! There is a reason that they are called DOCTOR and you are not! Think about your love ones!

ROAD TEST DUBAI - PASS!!!

I am soooooo happy!! I passed my Final Road Test by RTA! It wasn't as bad as what I heard.. Maybe I'm just lucky! I don't know.. I'm just so so happy!!!! After 28 classes, countless taxi rides, time , headache and nightmares, I pass and it feels AWESOME!

My Dubai Road Assessment Test Results.. PASS!! Honestly speaking, I do not know what is wrong with me.. I was really nervous and did a lot of stupid mistakes! There was 4 of us in the car and I was praying I did not have to go through the roundabout because I have no confidence in that.. guess what, I got the roundabout of course... ggrrrr... I did really badly :( All of us did some stupid mistakes but we are lucky that all of us passed the assesment test with the condition we had to take more lessons before we take the final road test. sigh..

I'm better than this.. She almost failed me but I pleaded that she give me a chance and pass me. Phew! Thank God my tester was a really nice arab lady. I am so grateful. The only thing that sucks is that I had to take another 8 more classes before I can actually go for my road test. Its another 480 dirhams. Ouch... well, its better than failling and taking another 20 classes I guess.

I will have another 8 classes and will have my final road test on the 2nd November. Hopefully I will do better and not let my nerve get to me! Good luck to anyone taking it as well!!

Getting My Driver's License in Dubai

I will be taking my assessment test tomorrow and I am soooooo nervous. Heard and read a lot of "bad experiences" people face and all the horror stories about not passing and how they purposely fail you in order to squeeze more money out of your pocket.

I am not fortunate enough to have my license converted. Since I have Malaysia's Driving License with experience more than 5 years, I am only required to take 20 classes  (10 indoor and 10 outdoor). Thank God for that! Each class last about 30 minutes and honestly you can't learn much in that short span of time. It cost about 60 dirhams per class!! Thankfully I bought my driving vouchers from Cobone .. 50% off ! hehe. Hopefully they won't puposely fail me because I only paid half the price of the classes!

Here are some tips on how to pass the road test that I got from my instructor and friends who finally passed their test after 5 attempts..

Driving License Test in Dubai - what are the DO and DON'Ts
1. Drive with confident and don't panic.
2. Remember to adjust your seat, mirrors and make sure you wear your seatbelt. Check on the dashboard that all doors are closed properly and ready to go.
3. Drive at a good speed -on main road is about 60km/hr / service rood 30 to 40.
4. Never forget your indicators and mirrors when maneuvering, turning, approaching the road or intersection
5. Don't change lanes unless you are asked to do so.
6. Never change lane until you do the 4 point check. Remember to check your mirror, signal, check your mirrors again, check your blindspot and mirrors again and then change the lane.
7. When you see a STOP sign, make a complete STOP.
8. Park your car parallel to the road when asked to parked by examiners. Never park in front of any entrance, gates or side roads. Always use hazard light when you park.

I am really nervous about driving tomorrow.. not because of my driving skills, but because I am afraid of the cost of failling. I pray I pass my test on my first attempt and not make stupid mistakes that will cost me a fortune. To those who will be taking their test - all the best!!! I hope these tips helps :) :)
